Dr. Jovan Vuksic

M.D., FRCPC (Pediatrics)

Dr. Vuksic went to medical school at UBC, graduating in 2011. He completed his pediatrics residency at UBC in 2015. He worked in general pediatric offices and on maternity wards for the first years of his career.

+

During that time, he was struck by how mental and emotional health were such critical aspects of pediatric care, and how so many physical complaints had a rich emotional underlayer that deserved to be explored. He also noticed that there were wide variations amongst families in their abilities to form secure attachments. During a leave of absence to recover from the stress of his hospital career, he found himself drawn to learning about neurodevelopmental issues, attachment, emotional regulation, and mental health challenges. This new knowledge has led him to start developing an approach that honours the scientific rigor of the medical profession, but focuses on an individualized, child-led approach to problem solving. He looks forward to helping as many children and their families as possible.
